![]() ![]() GBO is also exploring new data analysis tools, techniques to mitigate the impact of radio frequency interference, and is exploring possibilities for an expanded the radio camera program. Current development projects include: commissioning and early science operations of a 0.74 GHz ultra-wideband receiver optimized for high-precision pulsar timing, as well as observations of fast radio bursts and spectroscopic surveys implementing cyclic spectroscopy observing modes to provide ultra-high spectral resolution of pulsars, which will facilitate studies of the interstellar medium designing and developing a transmitting radar system for the GBT and expanding the GBO data archive and enabling archival science. Additionally, the GBT has ongoing instrumental research and development projects that keep the telescope at the forefront of science and technology. With a wavelength coverage of 1.5-m through 2.6-mm, the GBT is used for a diverse range of scientific research, including fundamental physics, gravitational wave astronomy, pulsars and fast radio transients, star formation, Galactic and extragalactic structure, astrochemistry, cosmology, planetary science, and SETI. Byrd Green Bank Telescope (GBT), the worlds largest fully steerable telescope, as well as numerous smaller telescopes which are used for a variety of scientific and educational purposes. ![]() The Green Bank Observatory oversees the development and operation of the Robert C. We are seeking an enthusiastic Scientific Data Analyst to join the staff of the Green Bank Observatory in Green Bank, West Virginia. ![]()
